The main function is to change the direction of the fluid and branch the pipeline. A tee is usually used where the main pipeline needs to branch, and can be of equal diameter (three ports with the same size) or reduced diameter (the main pipe port size is different from the branch pipe). The cross  tee  allow a pipeline to branch into three or four pipelines, with the same distinction between equal diameter and reduced diameter. These fittings can be made of various materials, such as cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, or plastic, to adapt to different working environments and media
